Outside length × outside width × overall loaded height.

Cube is a geometric envelope volume. It is not freight pricing, density, vehicle utilization or a load-safety approval.

Definitions

Three volumes that should not be confused

The primary result is the outside rectangular envelope of the complete loaded unit.

Loaded-unit envelope

Maximum outside loaded length × width × overall height, including the pallet when that is the chosen measurement scope.

Sum of external case cubes

Case outside L × W × H × modeled case count. It is not the internal volume occupied by the product.

Geometric case-volume fill

External case cubes divided by the case-stack envelope above the pallet. It is not freight, warehouse or vehicle utilization.

Operational limits

Volume alone does not approve a load.

Confirm gross weight, pallet condition, case compression, stability, restraint, handling equipment, carrier measurement rules and chargeable-weight policy separately.

Pallet cube questions

What does pallet cube mean?

On this page, pallet cube means the volume of the rectangular envelope around the complete loaded pallet: maximum outside length multiplied by maximum outside width multiplied by overall loaded height.

Should pallet height be included?

Yes for an overall loaded-pallet cube. Known-dimensions mode expects the complete outside height. Build mode adds the entered pallet height to the complete case layers.

What dimensions should I use if the load overhangs?

Use the load's maximum outside dimensions, including overhang, wrap, corner boards or other packaging, instead of using only the nominal pallet deck dimensions.

What is geometric case-volume fill?

It is the sum of the modeled cases' external rectangular volumes divided by the case-stack envelope above the pallet. It is not internal product fill, vehicle utilization or warehouse utilization.

Why can actual loaded height be below my maximum height?

The calculator counts only complete case layers. Any height left after the last complete layer is shown as unused headroom.

Does pallet cube determine freight charges or load safety?

Not by itself. Carriers may use dimensional weight, density, freight class or other rules, and this geometry calculation does not assess stability, compression, restraint, weight or equipment limits.
