The US Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes a Producer Price Index category for wood pallets and pallet containers. It can help describe broad price movement over time, but the index has no direct unit-price meaning and cannot replace a local quote for a particular pallet.

How much does one wooden pallet cost?
There is no reliable universal unit price. Size, construction, new or repaired condition, order quantity, treatment, location and freight must be held constant before two quotes can be compared.
Why are online pallet price ranges misleading?
They often omit geography, volume, delivery, grade definition, repair condition, treatment, tax and the date of the quote. Those omissions can be larger than the apparent unit-price difference.
Does the Producer Price Index show my local pallet price?
No. The BLS Producer Price Index tracks average price movement for a product category; it is not a supplier quote or a per-pallet price list.
How should I compare new and recycled pallet quotes?
Use the same drawing, condition criteria, treatment and marking requirements, quantity, delivery point, lead time and rejection terms. Ask each supplier to itemize freight and accessorial charges.
